AudioCubes VST Wrapper 1.0
Existing VST plugins or instruments in your DAW can be instantly
used with AudioCubes through included VST wrappers from Percussa.
The wrapper is compatible with popular DAW software such as IL FL
Studio, Ableton Live, …
Plugins can be instantly mapped to cube sensors without MIDI Setup.
Sensor info can be scaled, inverted and limited to plugin parameters
and colours can be linked to incoming MIDI notes in the case of VST
Instruments.
With just one cube and VST wrapper software, you can apply effects
to your tracks very easily. The tiniest gestures of your hands and
fingers are instantly audible.
AudioCubes Loop Shaper 1.0
Producing sounds or music directly with the cubes is possible through
the included sound design software from Percussa.
VST plugins can be loaded and hosted directly in this application
without running a DAW or other software.
With just one AudioCube, your gestures are captured and translated
instantly into parameter changes for the VST plugins.
The results can be recorded into the built-in looping sequencer, and
stored to disk as a WAV file, for reuse in your DAW or sequencer.
Alternatively, audio can be streamed via Rewire to popular software
such as IL FL Studio, Ableton Live, …
DeckaBridge 1.0
Deckadance, a popular professional digital DJ application by Image-Line,
can easily be used with AudioCubes through included Deckabridge software
from Percussa.
Real-time sensor signals from the cubes can be assigned to DJ effects
without complicated MIDI setup.
Classic MIDI DJ controllers for transport control, cueing, loop setting,
can be used simultaneously with AudioCubes without any problems.
Relooper sequencers in Deckadance can be easily controlled using multiple
cubes for interesting loop slicing and reconstruction.
Deckadance template files are included for use with DeckaBridge.

A trio of girl geeks and cubes
We were invited by Clo of the Brussels Girl Geeks to do a presentation on the why and history of AudioCubes and Percussa’s mission. The event took place in Hasselt, check the blog here for more information on the event.
Thanks to Clo Willaerts for her kindness and all the people who came over to see the cubes! The food was tasty and the people fantastic.
If you’d like to see the slides of the presentation, you can visit our page on Slideshare here.

We just returned from the Producers Conferences in Brussels and Amsterdam where we showed AudioCubes with Ableton Live, Propellerheads Reason, and with a new sound design application by Percussa, which works directly with the AudioCubes interface and which is capable of outputting sound to any sequencer through ReWire. Keep a close eye on this blog for some news about this application in the next weeks.
We met a lot of cool people, such as the guys from Alpha 2.1 and Dan Lacksman (Telex), and had a great time! Check out the photos at Flickr here: http://flickr.com/photos/percussa/sets/72157607492049663/

Steve Baltes just returned from Japan, where he performed with Ashra, the headliner at the Metamorphose festival. The lineup was:
Manuel Goettsching / git / keyb
Harald Grosskopf / e-drums
Steve Baltes / AudioCubes / computer live editing
You can see more photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/percussa/sets/72157607282118015/
Steve used AudioCubes and Ableton Live for his performance. We met him a while ago and he expressed an immediate interest to use the cubes in his work. Steve also played at ETD POPSICLE 2008 recently with AudioCubes.

Manuel created the fantastic E2-E4 album which was key in the development of electronic music. We quote from the Frequently Asked Questions on Ashra’s website:
Who is Manuel Göttsching?
Manuel Göttsching is a music composer, arranger, performer and producer living in Berlin, Germany. With Edgar Froese and Klaus Schulze, he represents the famous Berlin School of Electronic Music. Manuel has been composing and releasing music for the past three decades in styles such as blues, progressive free-form rock, cosmic, electronic, and through the years developed probably the most ground-breaking of all, his unique style of “minimal” music, for which it has gained him a reputation as the forefather of trance music.
Manuel is multi-instrumentalist, he plays keyboards and synthesizers, percussion, and above all, guitars. Manuel is considered one in a dozen of the world’s most renowned guitar players and performers of our time.
Manuel is founder of the group ASH RA TEMPEL, formed in 1970 with Hartmut Enke and Klaus Schulze. In 1977 Manuel shortened the band’s name to ASHRA and continued to perform and record with current members Lutz Ulbrich, Harald Grosskopf, and Steve Baltes.

Remember NAMM 2007? We were in “the basement”, Hall E, for our first NAMM Show. Next to us were the nice guys of SoundToys, who were demoing their plugins (and offering us chocolate occasionally, a bold move since we are from Belgium
.
SoundToys hops into the arts as part of the local Art Hop in Burlington. SoundToys will be providing space in the new SoundToys building for artist displays and setting up their own “Sound Space” audio art exhibit. The “Sound Space” will feature SoundToys professional audio effects plug-ins, audio tracks provided by Burlington native and World renowned remix artist Morgan Page, and the AudioCubes (Percussa’s tangible interface to control computers and audio software). South End Arts and Business Association (SEABA) of Burlinton Vermont will be hosting the 16th annual South End Art Hop on September 5 & 6, where more than 600 artists will display their work in over 100 studios and business locations.
SoundToys has chosen the Percussa AudioCubes as their preferred human-computer interface to interact with their computers and plugins:
“This is a cool event that provides exposure to artists and the arts for a community rich in expression. As part of that community and with music being the backbone of SoundToys existence, it’s an easy choice to donate space in our building for this event, and to provide our own bit of art as well. ” says Mitch Thomas, SoundToys Sales & Marketing Director, “When Ken (Ken Bogdanowicz, owner and founder of SoundToys) told me about the event and asked if I had any ideas about hands-on musical computer interfaces we could use to demo our plugins, I immediately thought of the amazing AudioCubes from Percussa. We were next to them at a recent trade show and I was blown away with these flashing, pulsing colored light cubes that you could move and twist and control and explore any aspect of your music software.”
“We were also lucky enough to get tracks from our good friend, Burlington native, and rising remix star Morgan Page. Morgan is always amazingly busy (He was in Norway when we called), but found time to supply us with the tracks from his latest single “Call My Name” featured on his new CD “Elevate”. His tracks are infectious. He is great as a remixer and his CD proves he’s a great song writer and artist as well.” Says Thomas.
