AudioCubes offer a level of resolution and update speed beyond today’s standards, letting you capture the most subtle performance gesture. We used the USB HID protocol, so you get 10-bit sensor resolution and 1kHz update rate, much better than MIDI.
They work out of the box. No need for a PhD, tables, detection systems, fiducials, barcodes, cameras, infrared lighting, projectors, mirrors, mechanical and optical assemblies or other gimmicks. We made it affordable, we made it work and made it reliable, and made sure you can take it wherever you and your creativity go. Without needing a setup crew.
If you’re a developer, you can focus on creating great software and installations using AudioCubes without worrying about keeping the hardware running. There are several development kits freely available and we’re happy to help if you have questions or need a hand. We’ll even accomodate reasonable feature requests. We’re a small team that cares.
They can be infinitely expanded because they are a modular system. They can be shared with your friends. You can gig together with each other’s AudioCubes without any need for configuration.
They are capable of displaying information through colours, which can be mixed, synchronized and controlled through MIDI from any other device or software.
The cubes are powered by an internal rechargeable battery. They recharge easily from your computer over USB.
AudioCubes were developed, designed and are made by hand in Belgium.
