This is Bert, designer and inventor of AudioCubes. I've been working on a new version of the AudioCubes firmware and MIDIBridge over the past couple of years.
In 2009 we released the first version of MIDIBridge for the wireless AudioCubes, and since then I've been working hard to push the wireless AudioCubes to the next level through firmware and MIDIBridge updates.
Wireless AudioCubes are the classic AudioCubes we started shipping in 2007, but with a hardware wireless upgrade which gives every cube a direct wireless
connection to your PC or Mac (see this blog post to learn more - How are Wireless AudioCubes different from Classic AudioCubes.
Moving forward, we will only be supporting and selling Wireless AudioCubes. When you buy an AudioCube system today it comes with wireless modules installed inside the cubes. It's no longer possible to buy classic non wireless AudioCubes and we won't be releasing any updates anymore for the classic AudioCubes.
This new firmware and MIDIBridge update was very challenging in that a lot of the AudioCubes firmware has been rewritten, and in that MIDIBridge also went through some big changes, including the brand new Topology mode. As in the past, we're releasing a Mac and PC version of this MIDIBridge update (firmware is the same file for both platforms but you need a different MIDIBridge binary depending on your platform).
