Salamanderanagram's Reaktor Effect Patching and Modulation using AudioCubes Topology (Part 2/2)

2015-04-28

As we mentioned in our previous blog post, the new software update for Wireless AudioCubes which was recently released allows the AudioCubes to detect each other and measure distance simultaneously.

This works for up to 16 cubes wirelessly, and you can send the MIDI trigger and distance data to any software or hardware instrument via MIDIBridge.

Salamanderanagram, well known for his Reaktor tutorials on ADSRsounds.com, has been working on a very cool effects processor using the AudioCubes and Reaktor. The processor contains effects such as a bit crusher and stutter.

He mapped the AudioCubes such that when two cubes are placed next to each other, one of the modules in the effects chain is activated, and when he moves the cubes closer together, the amount of effect applied is changed. This works for all cubes simultanously and in real time, and all wireless :-)

In the second part of this two part video demo, he shows how the Reaktor effect chain works as he places the cubes and moves them closer to each other and farther away. He also explains how the data from the AudioCubes flows into and controls Reaktor, and how he built the effects chain in Reaktor. There is a lot to learn here and it's really and awesome demo. Don't miss it.
